Emilio Percan

Emilio Percan has been performing as concert- master and soloist with various European orchestra since 2006, collaborating with such artists as Daniel Hope (double concertos), Simone Kermes, Edita Gruberova, Daniel Müller-Schott and Chen Reiss. Percan has had numerous engagements throughout Europe and in South America (Teatro Colón, Buenos Aires), Japan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Israel and the USA. In 2013 he embarked on a Eu- ropean tour with concertos for two violins with the violinist Viktoria Mullova and, in 2014, pre- sented a series of concerts and master courses in the Ukraine, Kyrgiystan and Russia at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow, the St. Petersburg Conservatory and at the Gnesin Institute in Moscow, amongst other institutions. In October 2015 he recorded his project "Brahms mal anders" ( and now - a different Brahms), playing and conducting the violin concerto and conducting the third symphony in F major. The positioning and size of the orchestra is as Brahms preferred it with all of the stereo effects he used in order to get a more transparent sound. In February 2016 he recorded his third record with his GAP ensemble, this time performing Vivaldi's "per Pisendel" sonatas, in which Vivaldi is going to the absolute limit of the violin technical possibilities known at the time. Both CD's are to be released with the Swiss label PAN-classics in October 2016 and January 2017. Emilio received his first violin instruction at the age of seven in Skopje, Macedonia. A master class of the former Kogan pupil Isabela Golovina impressed him so profoundly that he began studying with her in Moscow in 1999. In 2001 Emilio Percan finally arrived at the Folkwang Music Academy in Essen, where he studied the subjects of violin with Prof. Pieter Daniel (a pupil of Henryk Szeryng and Dorothy Delay), chamber music with Prof. Dirk Mommertz (Fauré Piano Quartet) and baroque violin with Stephan Schardt (Musica Antiqua Cologne). Since 2012 he is a visiting professor for violin and chamber music at the Moscow state university. Since march 2015 he is leading the violin class of specially gifted students at the University of arts in Graz-Austria.
